What We Believe

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. It was given to us, Old and New Testaments, by the “inspiration of God” and is the foundation of our faith and practice.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

The Godhead

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  (Genesis 1:26; Luke 3:21-22)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man, that He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. We believe that He died a sacrificial death, paid for our sin, and that He rose again on the third day. We believe that He has ascended to the right hand of the Father and will return in power and glory.  (Philippians 2:5-8, Hebrews 10:12-14)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit indwells believers and empowers them to edify the church through the gifts He gives. As we walk in the Spirit, His fruit will be evident in our lives.  (John 16:8, Ephesians 4:11-17, Galatians 5:22-23)

People

We believe that all people are created in the image of God, but because of disobedience to Him are now sinful by nature and choice. Apart from Jesus Christ, we are lost and separated from a relationship with God.  (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Romans 3:23)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift that God gives us because of His incredible love and grace. Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again according to the scriptures as a payment for our sin and was our perfect substitute. As we place our faith solely in Jesus Christ and His finished work, we are born again spiritually and adopted into the family of God.  (John 1:12-13, Ephesians 2:8-9)  We believe that individuals who receive the gift of salvation are secure in Christ forever.  (John 3:16-18, John 10:27-30, Romans 8:38-39)

The Resurrection

We believe that all believers will be physically resurrected to eternal intimacy with God in His presence in a new earth and heaven. We also believe that the lost will be raised to judgment and experience eternal separation from God in a real place called Hell.  (Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 20:11-15)

The Church

We believe that God has given us the Church both universal (world-wide) and local. The mission of the church is to do the work of the Lord through: evangelism, discipleship, and by sending people into the world to be a light in the darkness.  (Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 4:11-16)
